University of Virginia historian James Davison Hunter, author of The Culture Wars: The Struggle to Define America says, “Culture wars always precede shooting wars.” Old Dominion University historian and former U.S. Representative G. William Whitehurst dealt with these issues firsthand in his nearly two decades in Congress. Together, they discuss the issues that are pulling us together as a nation – and those driving us apart.
