Americans stand a fifty percent chance of having cataracts by the time they’re 80. Fortunately, the removal of cataracts is easy in the United States. But in the developing world, cataracts often go untreated. One doctor is guiding a global team of engineers in an effort to make cataract blindness a thing of the past. Lilia Fuquen has the story.
